They got to gawk at an item that its makers hope will become the Chinese peasant’s next must-have piece of agricultural machinery: a $199 computer. Lenovo the world’s third-largest computermaker and China’s best-known global brand chose this northeastern town to launch its assault on the growth frontier for PC sales ? villagers in developing countries ? and start bridging the digital divide between… This is a totally new market to be explored. That novelty brings challenges: Electricity supplies are not always reliable in the Chinese countryside phone lines reach only 47 per cent of rural homes according to government statistics and even $199 is beyond the means of millions of peasants. If you’re not someone who likes to sit and read directions while pushing buttons–or in this case shorting contacts–then the PowerPoint tutorial for the software helps you along. Yes I said “Software. ” This dive computer like many today allows you to manipulate settings and gather dive data by connecting it to your PC. Now before I go much further let me explain why this review is even here: I can think of two reasons. Because there are plenty of public safety personnel whose duties require them to work underwater andBecause there are plenty of public safety personnel who enjoy scuba diving off duty.

How much green will a green PC save? n its own not much. Using the EPA’s model of computer usage and the U. Also the latest version of PC Suite says you don’t have to install the driver separately because it is included in the PC Suite software so after I rebooted from the drive uninstall I installed PC Suite and followed their connection wizard and all went well. Installed perfectly. (h yeah the PC Suite is a free download from Nokia’s website. ) As far as the wire and how it works I love it. Just went into “My Computer” clicked on the “Nokia Phone Browser” and found my pictures and videos in the Galary folder. (You can use PC Suite for this too but I haven’t read the manual yet so I did it this way) Makes it so easy to transfer pictures over from the phone to my PC. nly prob the video that I copied over to my PC from the phone gallary is in a 3gp format that only plays with PC Suite but last week when I text messaged a video to someone using the phone it sent it in the MPEG format.

In 2000 LG Electronics of Korea sued Quanta Computer and several other Taiwanese PC makers claiming the firms were violating LG’s U. patents by using them without authorization — courtesy of Intel. When the justices hear the case in coming months they’ll be confronted with the question of how far down the supply chain a patent extends from the point it is licensed and how much control a company can exert on companies further down that chain. LG’s suit claims that a technology licensing deal with Intel restricted the technology from being used by Quanta an Intel customer.

comFriday September 28 2007 11:40 AMBowing to pressure from customers and computer makers Microsoft plans to keep Windows XP around a little longer.
