Features to check in hunt for PC
Seattle Times – Dec 24, 2007
As a rule Intel models with higher numbers are more powerful. Also a processor that runs at higher speed measured in gigahertz is likely to perform better than a slower one. • Memory: The more memory a PC has the faster and more reliably it will operate. To run Windows Vista Home Premium Edition or Apple’s new Leopard operating system properly I recommend 2 gigs of RAM although low-end models often come with half that much. Upgrade before you leave the store if possible. • Hard-disk storage: ften confused with memory the hard disk stores programs and data permanently and shuttles information back and forth into RAM while your PC is running. Hard-disk capacity is measured in gigabytes.

Weaknesses:If you clean up too much and don’t heed the application’s warnings you could kill your computer. verall Evaluation: I had a problem with XP not shutting down. No software I tried was able to fix this problem. I got a free version a year ago of this software’s previous version and went thru the default cleaning. It fixed the shutdown problem.
Win 98 PC can’t “see” mouse or keyboard
Geek.com – Dec 24, 2007
I’ve tried wireless devices connecting the receivers with both usb and ps2 connectors(with the usb connection the booting process stalls after the “Gateway” screen). I tried a usb wired board and mouse with no success. All of these mice and keyboards work fine with my XP pc. Any suggestions?By the way the only error message occurs when the computer is first turned on. That message states that windows was not properly shut down so scandisk goes thru the process of checking for errors. After that the computer requests a Microsoft network password which of course I can’t enter. TIABob 21 year ago by.

Problem is that if you hook that device up to a really high-end stereo the sound won’t be so great. Also you’re often dealing with a complicated frustrating installation process. And these systems are only as reliable as your personal computer and your Wi-Fi router. (In other words not very. )ReQuest a company founded in 1998 in Ballston Spa N. by engineers from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute aims to reach serious audiophiles who want something that sounds great and doesn’t break down or flake out… “You’ll be able to hear music in the same format as the original master recordings. It’s the most phenomenal thing to happen in the past 20 years” Goodwin says. Tired of crappy-sounding digital? Sick of dealing with flaky gizmos and PC solutions? Try ReQuest. Some pleasures are worth what they cost.
