The case has a slideshow built into the top of the case. It’s cool but since our computer is in a PC cabinet we get no use out of the slideshow. You can only view it if your computer was sitting on the floor next to your desk. I was most highly impressed with this computer’s ability to sort and manage digital photos. My husband and I are recently married and have over 800 high res wedding photos.

Dell quarterly profit sales increase PC maker reports revenue of $16…
San Francisco Chronicle – May 30, 2008
Dell is trying to cut costs by $3 billion while also chasing Hewlett-Packard Co. in worldwide shipments of personal computers a category it once led. Dell still leads Palo Alto’s HP in U. PC sales according to technology research firms IDC and Gartner Inc. but that could make Dell more vulnerable to a slowdown in the U… businesses “are holding back from spending” on desktops but that sales of servers and data-storage equipment were holding up. Weaknesses: A bit expensive. verall Evaluation: This computer is very good for both students and professionals. Although it is a bit expensive it is well-powered and has great specs. If you’re willing to invest an extra $80 or so to buy 4 GB of RAM to upgrade it can be even more powerful. I’ve been using Macbook Pros almost since they’ve been released and I can honestly say they are very reliable computers that tackle all sorts of programs with ease… First the new S Leopard is incredible. Things like having multiple desktops and dashboard simply blew me away coming from using XP for so many years. The new trackpad is amazing as well. It allows you to zoom scroll go back and foward in browsers all with your fingers! This configuration is a beast too–allowing me to use Adobe CS3 with no problems at all.

The View has a larger footprint than the e200-series but to me it’s still not that big and it comes with a bigger screen which is nice for videos. Although I haven’t used my earlier Sansas for video I did load a short movie on my new View and watch it and it worked pretty well. The video conversion process took for ever though and soaked up most of my desktop computer’s processor capability so don’t start a video conversion until you aren’t going to need your computer for a while. It’s the sort of thing you have to start and then walk away from and do something else while it runs. The “spin” wheel on the View is MUCH nicer than on the e200’s and the little buttons that were hard to press on the e200’s are gone with the View. I find the file management system easy to use but that may just be my familiarity with the Sansa way of doing things – I know others have complained about it but I am fine with it. The sound is pretty good too although I do use my own much nicer headphones – the little earbuds Sansa supplied only sound so-so to me.
